Koha ILS
KUDOS presentation, and other thoughts.
After I finished blushing a lot reading Larry’s post, I decided I ought to at least post my slides here!
To me, the process that is described in this presentation is the most stress-free and complete way to migrate an ILS. A migration of this scale is never easy, but there is a lot you can do to make it less painful for yourself and your team and borrowers. If you’re going it alone, this gives you a roadmap to get you started. If you’re working through any Koha vendor, then this really represents the least they should be doing for you. I’m not saying this is the only way to do it, by any means, but in my experience, this process is the best I have found so far.
It was great to see so many friends and partners at KUDOSCon 2011! Lots of the usual suspects, of course, but a good number of new faces, as well, which is always good to see. Good presentations throughout, and as Larry mentioned, the after-hours time was just awesome.
