French Cultural Center of Boston Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha (www.koha-community.org) support, announced today that the French Cultural Center of Boston is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

ByWater Solutions completed the migration for the French Cultural Center of Boston in July and will be providing ongoing support and hosting services for them.

The French Cultural Center of Boston houses the second largest private collection of French books, periodicals, DVDs, and audio and video cassettes available in the US. Their customized online catalog can be viewed here: http://catalog.frenchcc.bywatersolutions.com.

Marie Lalevée, Head Librarian, commented on their decision to migrate to Koha with support from ByWater:

“It was time for us to move on to a more user-friendly system which would incorporate web 2.0 functionality. As the library of a small non-profit, cost was a concern, but we still felt our energy and inspiration deserved cool features, a good look and an overall logical and practical system. After some serious research, we came to the conclusion that Koha was a solid ILS which matched our requirements, and ByWater Solutions would be able to assist us in this operation. Having no in-house IT staff, we really needed to feel supported and guided. We feel everything has gone smoothly throughout migration and are excited to now be using Koha everyday!”
